Sunshine Coast Weather

‘Beautiful One Day Perfect the Next’…

The Sunshine Coast certainly is with an average of seven hours of sunshine a day.

When I first visited the Sunshine Coast I was 10 years old on holiday from New Zealand. It was the middle of Winter and it was raining and cold when we left New Zealand and we were greeted with brilliant sunshine when we arrived. The fantastic climate is one of the many reasons that we came to live on the Sunshine Coast.

A question I get asked a lot is…

”So when is the best time to visit the Sunshine Coast?”

Anytime, I love it all year round for different reasons. However if you aren't used to the hot weather it might be better to visit during the Winter, (August is good) when temperatures are pleasantly cool and there is hardly any rain.

Here is a climate guide to assist you with your holiday planning:

Season Months Av. Temp. Av Rainfall
Summer December to February 28 ° C 108mm
Autumn March to May 25 ° C
Winter June to August 22 ° C 62mm
Spring September to November 25 ° C

You can see that there is not much variation between Summer and Winter. Please note temperatures in the Blackall Range can be several degrees cooler.
