“That Was Awesome, You’re the Best!”
A Kids Activities Guide
Guaranteed to Please.

As the mother of two energetic boys, kids activities are very important. Nothing beats having fun with your children, the smiles and laughs, and them ending the day completely exhausted with no arguments going to bed!

Sunshine Coast Kids have loads of fun.

To create this webpage I brought in The Little Critics – my two boys and their cousins and wow did they have fun!

Besides making sandcastles, looking for shells, walking on the beach and swimming, here are some other fun things to keep the kids busy:

Pick Your Own Strawberries

kids activities
The kids loved this.

We visited Strawberry Fields opposite Aussie World and Ettamogah Pub. Simply choose a tray size, pick the strawberries, without eating them, then when you are finished the strawberries are weighed and you pay per kilo.

At approx $ 8 a kilo, right from the patch you can’t beat it. The Little Critics ate most of them on the way home in the car!

There are also lots of yummy strawberry treats in the shop like chocolate coated strawberries to tempt you!

Open from June to November this is a must do activity on the Sunshine Coast. Please click here for further information.

Have you ever been confined to a holiday apartment with a toddler in the rain? I have. Fortunately my sister was experienced and she arrived with some goodies that saved my sanity and kept my son amused for hours!

By packing some of the following you can create your own kids activities:

  • Balloons
  • Colouring books, pencils, crayons
  • Books
  • Sleep comforter (teddy bear, etc)
  • A small selection of toys from home or something new – toy cars, Lego, board games
  • If you are at the beach – beach toys, boogie boards, noodles – I often buy these from ‘bargain shops’ at the destination to save extra luggage
  • DVDs

When are the Australian School Holidays Anyway?

Each state in Australia enjoys different public and school holidays. To help with your planning, please find a list of the Australian school holidays and public holidays.
