For New Years Eve 1999, to welcome in the Millennium, I was 8 months pregnant so we decided to have a little getaway at Mooloolaba before we had our baby. We stayed in an apartment on the esplanade, right in the heart of everything, without leaving the room we able to see the fireworks, watch all the action and drink champagne while watching the last sunset of the year. Perfect! Remember if you are booking for a busy time of the year book as far ahead as you can to give you a better chance of getting what you are looking for. Top Of The Range Accommodation in Sunshine CoastIf it is 5 Star Luxury that you are looking for you can’t go past Sheraton Noosa Resort and Spa, located right in the heart of vibrant Hastings Street. Walk across the road to the beach or enjoy a swim in the lagoon pool with swim up bar.
Hyatt Coolum, located in beautiful surroundings at Coolum Beach is another beauty. If you enjoy Golf then this is the place to be. Resort Accommodation in Sunshine Coast If you are looking for a resort, with loads of free activities then Novotel Twin Waters Resort in Maroochydore is lots of fun. You can kayak, sail or windsurf on the private lagoon, venture over to the surf beach, play a round of golf or simply just relax and enjoy the tropical gardens. Treat yourself to the award winning restaurants. I also have fond memories of Rydges Oasis Resort, Caloundra where we stayed for my Cousin’s wedding. Breakfast at Reflections Restaurant surrounded by the water lily filled lagoon was yummy and picturesque. There are many different types of accommodation to suit all needs. If you are looking for something a little bit different, then have a look at Kingfisher Bay Resort, Fraser Island. Stay in style with the opportunity to explore this heritage listed wonderland. We stayed there for our Honeymoon. Check it out! Are You Travelling With Kids? Need more space for all the extra things you have to take? What with high chairs, toys and port-a-cots, then when they get older – bikes, fishing rods and surfboards, self contained apartments or holiday houses would suit you best. Our favourite is Skippers Cove, we have stayed there a few times now. The waterside apartments are located overlooking the magnificent Noosa River, so take your boat and anchor it out the front. The kids can play in the sand; and you can take a short walk into Hastings Street for an Ice Cream or Brekky. There are plenty of apartments and luxury holiday houses in Noosa to choose from. However if you are looking for something a little more casual then how about renting a holiday house at Teewah.
Here is the Holiday House that we rented a few years ago. Clean with everything you need and plenty of space. You need a 4x4 to get there as you drive up the beach from Noosa North Shore. Enjoy some 4x4 beach driving during the day, some fishing, surfing and swimming as it is located right opposite the beach. The sunsets are magic, sundowners on the beach, a must! Our most recent accommodation in Sunshine Coast was for the May Day Long Weekend, a beachhouse at Marcus Beach. Just a two minute walk to the beach, it had a balcony overlooking the beach, spa, plenty of room for two families and fully self contained. Have a look, I recommend it. Motels One of my favourite places on the Sunshine Coast is Lake Cootharaba, Boreen Point, not far from Noosa.
They have lots of holiday houses and camping available but if you are looking for a value for money look no further than the Lake Cootharaba Motel. Perfectly located, with a wonderful view of the lake and clean and tidy. I fondly remember an Easter when we stayed there many many years ago. It has all been lovingly refurbished since then. You Are Looking For A Romantic Getaway? Look no further than the Sunshine Coast Australia Hinterland, including Glasshouse Mountains, Maleny, Mapelton and Montville. Log fires, spa baths, massages, devine food, art and crafts, scenic drives and Devonshire Teas. Heaven!
